Our client is a leading American apparel and clothing retailer that operates 2 main brands. It entered the China market in 2010 with an ambitious expansion plan across Greater China. Over the past 5 years from a human resources perspective, the challenge has been:

  • To meet the plan for store openings with tight and sometimes moving deadlines
  • To manage the workforce in operating stores while staffing for new cities and geographies
  • To support the entry to market of the second brand while managing the first
  • To source and attract personnel from a highly volatile and sought-after store management and staffing population
  • To adapt global recruitment processes to the China market context




Fyte RPO set up an off-site recruitment team dedicated to the client. The recruitment team is a combination of permanent and flexible staff across 5 Greater China cities and includes project managers, recruiters, researchers and schedulers.

The team and the client work in partnership to evaluate annually the store staffing needs in terms of new stores openings and replacement staff for current stores.

The Fyte RPO team’s essential mission is to ensure the effectiveness of recruiting for new market entry situations, whether by city or brand; this allows the client’s own operations and talent acquisition team to focus on the existing stores. Fyte RPO team also supports the client talent acquisition team as needed with the replacement of store management positions.

Additionally, Fyte RPO team also supports in:

  • Applicant tracking and building a database with thousands of rated candidates
  • Employer branding with advice on recruiting message strategy, career website design, expansion of sourcing channels, and recruiting campaigns
  • Providing the client with market research & intelligence information such as compensation levels and skills level in each new marketplace




  • Fyte RPO team has supported the opening of over 120 stores in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, including 40 Mainland cities. Over 5 years, Fyte has recruited more than 900 supervisor and manager positions, and 4,500 full time and part time Sales Associates and Stockroom Associates.
  • Fyte RPO has continuously met their hiring timelines and objectives while effectively controlling cost of hire through flexible resourcing of the team according to workload
